Well it’s Monday again. More than likely, several of you are feeling this one a bit more than usual. Super Bowl Sunday, parties, good times, snacks, beverages awesome! Monday morning, not so much (especially for us Steelers fans).

All the more reason to practice…

Gratitude that is. I look for gratitude (which ultimately translates into joy and love) in every little thing. Sometimes it turns up in the most unexpected ways. Over the last few years I’ve made a habit of finding myself grateful. This manifests in mental and written lists. Keep it simple. I like to start with three things everyday. The list tends to grow from there. It’s basic, gratifying and opens my eyes and heart.

For example, today, I am grateful for:

  1. Bob Marley
  2. Get Your Paint On (a class I enrolled in/ birthday gift to myself)
  3. The fact that I finally cleaned out my purse (aka the red cow). Incidentally, not the easiest task. But gratifying all the same.

Technically, I could go on and on. I am super grateful that my husband got up at five to squeeze orange juice for us even though he had to leave the house when it was still dark. And super duper grateful that I am not sharing a pounding overhang (hangover) with millions of football fans. You get the idea.

It’s easy, cheezy. But if you practice, eventually, it will come naturally to you. You will notice small changes in your life and the way you look at things and people around you. Gratitude prompts and little pieces of love will start to pop up everywhere.
