It’s studio Friday. And I’m over at Studio JRU again sharing some fab photos of my beloved creative space. All in a weeks work. In joy these macro and beyond views.

I am participating in Get Your Paint On! A wonderfully, inspiring and encouraging e course designed to support you (in this case me) in getting your paint on. It is a five week course. I have yet to complete my first assignment but I’m loving the homework. I should wrap up by saturday (so more photos soon). As you can see paint has been the focus in the studio. Yes, the beads are wining and chiding me for neglecting them and the metal. Fret not, I’ll get to them soon enough. I love moving across mediums. It infuses me and keeps my perspective fresh. A big thanks to Mati Rose and Lisa Congdon for putting together this class for folks who’ve never picked up a brush (but always wanted to) experienced painters (that need a kick in the pants), and a few of us in between (like me).

Have an ilaful day and a gorgeous weekend! Do something you love.

One Love, walk good, off to paint…

You hold the keys to change.

It is Monday, which has it’s own built in opportunity to cleanse, if only by the sheer luck and misfortune of being the “first” day of the week. Here’s to manifesting, organizing, clearing, refreshing.

I spent time yesterday in the tangled delight of a studio cleanse. It always makes me feel inspired to move stuff out and straighten what is staying. I don’t know about you, but I’m rarely inspired by studio clutter and project remains. I prefer a crisp and clear, creative expanse. I am energized by empty, open spaces.

Shelves, journals, desks, tables, walls, etc.

Wherever you are, I hope you are inspired to have a productive day. Sometimes sorting a stack of magazines on the coffee table can make you feel more organized. Sometimes, a simple chore (i.e., cleaning out your purse) is enough to trigger a spark of inspiration so grand you are unable to contain it! Keep it on the positive and change won’t overwhelm you. Distance is reached in baby steps.

What are you manifesting this monday? Whether you are making lists, crossing items off of your list, or just incubating and floating in creative process, I wish you a beautiful and organized Monday.

One Love, walk good, Wo~manifesting…

My daughter is a budding cubist. And although I am generally not fond of “ists” and “isms”, I am encouraging her exploration of of this radical and revolutionary art form. As of late, her style of artistic expression is leaning more and more in this direction. I am blown away by some of the images she produces. Complex beyond my comprehension. She has opened my eyes to forgotten flames of art history.

Today  I post this image, Mila’s drawing, De Wirld, (The world).

A reminder to keep looking at the world around me in new and surprising ways. I am deconstructing and reconstructing my own ideas and images in divine and delicious fashion. I am so much more aware of how art and creating an artful life completely consumes my being, intentions and expression in physical and cyber space.

All because of my darling, artist babes.

All because they accept nothing less than wild, creative, passion and abandon.

For years now, we have drawn and cut out animals, and the occasional character (more show and tell on this later). To a tune of hundreds and likely over a thousand paper creatures. At some point they were taking up the space, spilling out of doorways and windows, swept away by the breeze and the broom.

I have since corralled them in ziplock bags and houses that we’ve made from recycled oatmeal boxes. But the zoo has finally grown beyond capacity. We had a talk about this the other day and decided to incorporate all drawn and cut out animals, superheroes and characters into a large painting. This way we can preserve and injoy them while freeing up some valuable shelf/storage space.

Now, it occurs to me how dramatically the King (my husband, baby fadda) and I have improved and honed our sketching and animal drawing skills. The joy, frequency and mild frustration associated with such tasks has crossed over into our routine in colorful ways. I think the King would not have admitted to being an artist a couple of years ago. But now my babes refer to him as the best artist in the family.

Awesome.

C’mon, you know you’re an artist! How have the little people in your life inspired you to be more than you imagined you could be? How do you express your creative passion in the physical or cyber world. Have you turned up your creativity lately?

One Love, walk good, parenting artfully…

I thought I’d share some of the concepts currently circling my cranium. I am smack dab in the middle of a design overhaul for my creative biz. This phase involves re-hammering out my bizness plan, and creating a cohesive look and feel for my brand. Hopefully all of this brainstorming will eventually arrive somewhere slightly north of calm and not too far east of enthusiastic. I will be so relieved to have all of this decision making behind me.

I know I’ve shared before how much I love wordle.net. Jonathan Feinberg is genius and I find this site to be a great kick-start for creativity when I am feeling at a stand still. Today it occurred to me that wordle/s can also be used as a tool to reveal, unearth and light up a tagline, or even a name for a new business. Type in the words swarming in your head, click go and watch your wordle, word collage appear. Good Luck and injoy.

One love, walk good, brainstorming and breaking through…
