Breathe in a peaceful state of happiness… Sometimes projects don’t advance quite as fast as one would hope. In Jamaica this can be an excruciating reality. Those of you lucky enough to travel to the islands may have experienced hours of waiting, for a meal, a storm to pass, a ride, a guide, your luggage to arrive, etc. It’s true, things tend to move a likkle slower in the balmy, island heat. Perhaps, you can imagine the patience and faith required for construction, building and development projects.
Indeed, the rock is riddled with unfinished, halted, halfway built, over budgeted and forever resigned, buildings. They, are scattered throughout the hills, main roads and coastal regions of this tiny nation. See exhibit A, the picture above. A small structure on the rocky cliffs of Negril’s West End. This edifice, is a testament to the stop and start impediments that can accompany building/renovation projects here in Jamaica and potentially worldwide. For me this image, is symbolic of how incomplete, imperfect, projects, dreams and intentions, can co-exist in harmony, with beauty, nature and inspired content.
Today I am practicing inspired content. The word inspired is of Latin origin, inspirare, meaning to breathe in. And the word content, is defined by my mac dictionary as “a state of peaceful happiness”. Take a minute today to Breathe in a peaceful state of happiness. It occurs to me the trick is to practice inspired content, especially when things are slow, unfinished, or delayed. It is after all, with every breath, our choice to be consumed with frustration or inspired content. I am working on the latter and remembering contentedness is an inspired and creative choice. You decide.
One love, walk good, choosing inspired content…
