I am adding a Daily Chronicles category to Something blu. Vignettes of Jamaica life. These images were acquired during our produce trip into Negril yesterday. It is a frequent pilgrimage, full of color and and life, fruits, vegetables, blue skies and smiling faces. Every excursion, reveals a new angle. And no produce trip is the same. I am garnering inspiration and fodder for the studio. Lately, I am opening my eyes wide to see the colors and characters of my neighborhood.
The thing about Negril, the west side and Jamaica, in general, is the colors and the light are extraordinary. I don’t think I have lived anywhere quite as colorful. Sometimes it hurts my eyes, in a good way (if this is possible). It can be overwhelming. And yet those of us who live here can get so wrapped up in the day to day stuff that we often take the rich hues and saturation for granted. Indeed, every part of this blu globe offers a unique light, texture and color pallet. How about your place on this planet? Take some time to tune into the light and color in your part of the world. Bet you will be pleasantly surprised.
